Pourtant, son r\u00f4le est fondamental : v\u00e9ritable veilleur de la nature et passeur de savoir, le ranger agit \u00e0 la fois comme agent de terrain, m\u00e9diateur et \u00e9ducateur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">Cette profession repose sur deux piliers principaux :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>la surveillance et le respect des r\u00e8gles<\/strong> dans les espaces naturels<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>la sensibilisation du public<\/strong> aux enjeux environnementaux<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">\u00c0 cela s\u2019ajoutent des fonctions de coordination, de gestion des conflits d\u2019usage, de suivi \u00e9cologique et de soutien aux autorit\u00e9s. Le ranger est donc un acteur cl\u00e9 dans la gestion durable des espaces naturels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Une mosa\u00efque d\u2019appellations en Suisse romande<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">L\u2019un des constats les plus frappants est la diversit\u00e9 des appellations utilis\u00e9es selon les cantons et les structures. Cette h\u00e9t\u00e9rog\u00e9n\u00e9it\u00e9 refl\u00e8te une certaine h\u00e9sitation institutionnelle. Le canton de Fribourg utilise le terme d&rsquo;ambassadeur-drice nature ou de surveillant des r\u00e9serves naturelles, la canton de Neuch\u00e2tel regroupe la fonction avec celle de garde faune et nomme parfois celui-ci ranger, le canton du Valais utilise les termes de surveillant des r\u00e9serves naturelles et de garde-site, le canton de Vaud emploie le terme de garde nature et le canton de Gen\u00e8ve celui de garde de l&rsquo;environnement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">Cette diversit\u00e9 montre que la Suisse romande avance avec prudence, multipliant les titres pour \u00e9viter les amalgames ou pr\u00e9server des fonctions existantes comme celles de garde-faune.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Une situation plus claire en Suisse al\u00e9manique<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">\u00c0 l\u2019inverse, en Suisse allemande et dans les Grisons, la situation est beaucoup plus simple :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">L\u2019appellation <strong>\u00ab Ranger \u00bb est largement utilis\u00e9e et reconnue<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Elle est associ\u00e9e \u00e0 une profession structur\u00e9e, avec une formation sp\u00e9cifique (CEFOR \u00e0 Lyss)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Elle b\u00e9n\u00e9ficie d\u2019une <strong>reconnaissance sociale et institutionnelle plus forte<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">Cette uniformit\u00e9 contribue \u00e0 une meilleure visibilit\u00e9 du m\u00e9tier et \u00e0 une compr\u00e9hension claire de son r\u00f4le par le public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Origine et l\u00e9gitimit\u00e9 du terme \u00ab Ranger \u00bb<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">Le terme \u00ab ranger \u00bb ne doit pas \u00eatre r\u00e9duit \u00e0 son image militaire am\u00e9ricaine. Son origine est bien plus ancienne et l\u00e9gitime :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">D\u00e8s le <strong>14e si\u00e8cle en Angleterre<\/strong>, il d\u00e9signe un gardien de for\u00eat charg\u00e9 de surveiller et prot\u00e9ger un territoire<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Il est historiquement li\u00e9 \u00e0 la <strong>gestion des espaces naturels<\/strong>, bien avant son usage militaire<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Depuis le 19e si\u00e8cle, il est utilis\u00e9 dans les parcs naturels, notamment aux \u00c9tats-Unis avec Yellowstone<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">En Europe, et particuli\u00e8rement en Suisse al\u00e9manique, ce terme a \u00e9t\u00e9 adopt\u00e9 pour ses connotations positives et professionnelles . Le Ranger repr\u00e9sente une r\u00e9ponse moderne et efficace aux enjeux environnementaux actuels<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Conclusion : assumer le terme \u00ab Ranger \u00bb en Suisse romande<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">La Suisse romande fait aujourd\u2019hui face \u00e0 un choix important : continuer \u00e0 multiplier les appellations ou assumer une identit\u00e9 professionnelle claire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">L\u2019utilisation du terme \u00ab ranger \u00bb pr\u00e9sente plusieurs avantages :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Clart\u00e9 et lisibilit\u00e9 pour le public<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reconnaissance internationale d\u2019un m\u00e9tier structur\u00e9<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Coh\u00e9rence nationale<\/strong> avec la Suisse al\u00e9manique<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Valorisation de la profession<\/strong> et de ses comp\u00e9tences<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">La crainte d\u2019une confusion avec les \u00ab rangers \u00bb militaires am\u00e9ricains ne repose pas sur la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 historique ni sur l\u2019usage actuel en Europe.
